Counselor Award
Sandy Farris
Sandy Farris, M.Ed., is a certified school counselor and a graduate of
both the University of Cincinnati and Xavier University. She is
currently employed by the Indian Hill School District as a general
guidance counselor grades 9-12. Sandy began her career teaching English
at White Oak Junior High School. At Roger Bacon High School Sandy
transitioned into school guidance. She has taught and supervised for
three years in the Xavier University Graduate Counseling Program.
In addition to extensive post-graduate study,
Sandy claims membership in the Ohio School Counselor Association, the
Greater Cincinnati Counseling Association, the Ohio Association for
College Admission Counseling, and the National Association for College
Admission Counseling, as well as NEA and OEA. This year, she became
involved in the Greater Cincinnati College Access Network, presenting
workshops for TRIO/Educational Talent Search groups.
Sandy writes, "Challenge and activity sustain me. I plan to continue to
work as long as I am physically able, and look forward to opportunities
to learn and grow as education and counseling continue to change in the
next decade."
